What is blogging?
Blogging is a means to share your thoughts on a particular niche/topic. Here in Blogging, we try to provide a solution to our readers. As a blogger, there are different ways in which you can earn money. It can be through Google Ad Sense, Posting ads of third parties, Affiliate marketing, and many more. It is a gold mine that can create a passive source of income for you.
So let’s get started.
How to select a topic?
You have to be careful while selecting a topic on which you write. For this, you should know your passion, i.e., interest. Also, you need to know your talent. Say, for example, you are passionate about coding but don’t know anything about coding, then that can’t be your topic. Also, the topic that you decide needs to have a market too. Otherwise, you will not find an audience for your blog.
To get a perfect topic, mix all the three ingredients(market demand, passion, and talent) to get an excellent topic on which you can start writing. Once you have decided on your topic, try to do any research that might be needed to provide value to your readers.
Now once you have the topic, let’s start blogging.
How to create an outline of the blog?
It would be best if you created an outline of your blog before you start writing. This is similar to brainstorming about blog content. Once you know the topics and sub-topics you want to include in your blog, it becomes easier to write it. By creating the outline, you will see the flow of the blog.
You can use a Mind map, a visual diagram that helps create connections between various topics. You can create a Mind map using, Mindmeister on Windows Desktop MinNode on MAC laptops Or use a notebook and a pen(for people who love the smell of books)
How to write a catchy headline?
The headline is all that will attract readers to your blog. This is the title that is displayed by Google search engines. And if this is attractive, your 60% job is done. It should force the reader to click on the blog link and start reading your blog. Now to write a compelling headline, it should clearly explain what this blog is about. It should not misguide the readers.
You can also use some tools to generate headlines like TheHoth, SEO Presser, and Portent to give you suggestions for an intense but compelling headline. I prefer to use the Headline Analyzer from the “schedule” website. It tells me the score of how useful my headline is. It is easy and free to use. Best suitable for new bloggers. Once you finalize the headline, then you need to get started with the introduction of your blog.
How to write a headstart for the blog?
When you start a blog, you need to grab the attention you have gained from a catchy headline. It would be best if you kept the attention of readers intact. If you don’t start well, no one will read ahead, no matter how practical and useful your remaining blog might be. A good introduction will be written only when you understand your audience.
As the heart is to a human being, an introduction is to a blog. You can always start your blog with a question. It could be the problem/issue the reader might be worried about. They might be looking for a solution for it. You can also start with a story or your personal experience. This will grab the eyes of your reader on the blog.
Also, by sharing a unique experience, your audience will be able to relate to you.
It would be best to briefly give a brief of what the people can expect while reading your blog. Also, specify the intention with which you have written this blog. Then, you can also mention the prospective people that must read this blog.
This is just the beginning. Please don’t give the solution here itself.
How to write the body of the blog?
Now in this part comes the real solution for the user. This needs to answer all questions that you have promised to answer at the start. Here you will share the things that you have learned related to that question. You will discuss the different possible solutions that you have come across for that problem.
Like in this blog, I am trying to explain the different things you need to take care of while writing a blog to clear all your doubts about writing.
Also, at the same time, you need to share what you have learned while applying the same solution. This will help the reader understand how they can also use this solution, and then they will relate more.
It would be best if you established a connection with all your readers.
Every reader reading your post should be able to take learnings from your seat and implement them.
Before you end the blog, you should not forget to ask for feedback, as this will help you understand your audience in a better way. This will also help you in writing your blogs in the future.
Now once you have a brief idea, how to write the blog, you need to get started. You can either write it in MS Word or Google Docs. From there, you would need to copy it to your blogging site.
Now the next question that will come to your mind is which blogging site to choose.
Where to write your blogs?
As a beginner, you may choose to start writing on different platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Quora. You can easily create accounts on this platform using your Gmail account if you don’t have one already.
You can also write on several other blogging sites like Medium.com or Blogspot.com.
These sites allow you to create your sub-domain that you can share with your friends and family while sharing your blog. However, this is not your property. These sites have the right to revoke your accounts in case of any malpractice.
Another option would be to buy your domain and host it on a server using a reliable server. Then you can post your blogs on your website like I am doing. All the blogs you have written will be your property, and no one can revoke you from using the user data.
